Kitchell Contractors is proud to announce the promotion of Dan Maher, AIA, DBIA, LEED GA, NCARB, RA, to Regional Executive for Southern Arizona. Dan succeeds Brian Brown, DBIA, LEED AP, who will retire in early 2026 after a distinguished 40-year career in construction, including eight years with Kitchell.
A Leader Rooted in Southern Arizona
A longtime Tucson resident, Dan brings more than 16 years of experience in architecture and construction and a deep understanding of the region’s unique opportunities and challenges. His leadership embodies Kitchell’s ongoing commitment to collaboration, innovation, and community engagement.
Beyond his role at Kitchell, Dan is deeply woven into the fabric of Southern Arizona’s professional and civic landscape. He serves on the AIA Southern Arizona Board, the City of Tucson Design Review Board, and the Southern Arizona Leadership Council (SALC). This year, he will also step into his role as AIA Arizona State President, furthering his statewide impact as a respected advocate for design excellence and the built environment.
Honoring Brian Brown’s Legacy
As Dan takes the helm, Kitchell also celebrates the remarkable career of Brian Brown, whose leadership helped shape the company’s strong presence in Southern Arizona. During his tenure, Brian led notable projects for the University of Arizona, Banner Health, and Valleywise Health in Phoenix, establishing one of Kitchell’s most successful regional teams.
A passionate champion of the Design-Build delivery method, Brian has also served on the Arizona Builders Alliance Board of Directors and shared his expertise widely through industry conferences and professional associations. His steady guidance, expertise, and collaborative spirit have left an enduring mark on Kitchell’s people and projects alike.
Continuing the Momentum
“Brian has been instrumental in growing Kitchell’s presence and reputation across Southern Arizona and beyond,” said Phil Glenn, Vice President of Operations at Kitchell. “His steady leadership, industry expertise, and collaborative spirit have set a strong foundation. Dan’s appointment continues that momentum—he’s a respected leader with deep roots in the community and is prepared to guide Kitchell’s Southern Arizona region into the future.”
Over the next several months, Dan and Brian will work side by side to ensure a seamless transition for clients, partners, and project teams—continuing Kitchell’s legacy of excellence in the region.
