Kitchell named ENR-Southwest General Contractor of the Year!

ENR-Southwest recently announced that Kitchell is its 2013 ENR – Southwest General Contractor of the Year!

In picking the winners, Editor John Guzzon noted that all of the contractors in the rankings stood out for their fiscal success, but that the General Contractor of the Year also stands out for sustainability, social responsibility, safety record, workplace satisfaction and the caliber of upcoming projects. Kitchell also stood out because it “is an innovator in construction and building technology, embracing interactive virtual tours, laser scanning, off-site fabrication and computational fluid dynamics.”

ASU landmark dorm, Manzanita Hall, gets renovation

The hardison/downey team is near completion on the renovation of ASU’s 15-story Manzanita Hall on the main campus, which was originally built in 1967.

Scheduled to debut at the end of July, the new dorm rooms will include two bedrooms, three bedrooms with shared bathroom and four bedroom suites with two bathrooms. The student dining facility on the first floor will also be remodeled. New social spaces include a fitness center, mail and computer rooms, student lounges and a business center. Exterior improvements include new landscaping and courtyards as well as basketball and sand volleyball courts.
