Construction crews say goodbye to new YOLO County Courthouse

As dozens of Yolo Superior Court employees packed their bags this week, preparing to move into their new home, construction workers said goodbye to a building that been a part of their lives for years.

Project Managers David Tompkins, with Hensel Phelps Construction, and Raaj Patel with Kitchell CEM have both been a part of the project since their companies were selected to be a part of the $161 million project.

The addition of the Hollister courthouse for the Superior Court of San Benito County to downtown Hollister, Calif. is one that the local community can call its own. Not only does the 41,500-square foot courthouse stand as a beacon in downtown, but its design also engages the public in a way that creates openness and transparency for a community that once lacked a town center. And that’s exactly how the community wants it.  Kitchell served as the general contractor for this project.
