hardison/downey featured in Arizona Contractor & Community Magazine for ASU West dining facility project

hardison/downey Supervisor Eric Williams shares some of the construction details surrounding the ASU West dining facility project, which is scheduled to open this fall semester. Unique aspects of the project such as getting the jumbo bricks used in the dining area to match the existing police building and moving the Jamba Juice outlet on campus into the new facility. “Probably the biggest challenge though is building in the midst of an operational school and keeping everyone coordinated safely,” says Williams.

hardison/downey tapped to build upscale multifamily development

PHOENIX (March 23, 2012) – hardison/downey construction inc. (h/d) has been awarded construction of a new 382-unit, garden-style apartment complex in Gilbert.

The Santan Village Apartments will break ground this month. The parcel, located at Williams Field Road and Santan Village Parkway, was acquired earlier this year by Del Mar, Calif.-based multifamily developer LWI Properties. The owner’s representative is MKG Consulting. The project is designed by Orange, Calif.-based Architects Orange.

Located at Williams Field Road and Santan Village Parkway, the 575,000-square-foot project will include 22 two- and three-story apartment buildings, as well as a two-story clubhouse with a fitness center, theatre, and resort-style swimming pool with indoor/outdoor cabanas. Solar panels will be installed on parking shelters to provide energy to the complex.

“Our experience and reputation in multifamily and student housing projects is prompting more work, especially as the Valley stages a comeback starting with the rental housing market,” said hardison/downey President Bob Hardison.

hardison/downey has several multi-family and student housing projects currently under construction. The company broke ground on the Concord Eastridge complex in downtown Phoenix earlier this month, and is constructing major housing projects at ASU, NAU and the University of New Mexico.
